Septic Tank Cleaning

ROTO-ROOTER of the DELMARVA recommends to have septic tanks pumped every two years. For a troubled system, one that is slow or has had rejuvenation work, once a year is recommended.

Many companies only open one lid to your tank, although you may have a two compartment tank, a Delaware tank. ROTO-ROOTER will open both lids and use a long tube to remove all the liquid as well as the solids on the bottom of the tank.

ROTO-ROOTER is very thorough and we get the job done right, the first time. Our loyal customers who utilize our Homeowners Maintenance Program enjoy great discounts without worries.

Standard Septic Tank and Drainfield

Septic Service

Your septic system is a very important part of your real estate investment. Your drainfield, or dry well, is the part of your septic system which allows your treated effluent to seep into the ground, to be filtered through the sand and stones and be treated by the earth's natural bacteria action. It is essential to maintain your septic system so that it functions properly, allowing your drains to flow with ease. Your septic system itself is unique. Every gallon of waste, including all kinds of particles of debris that you rinse down your drain or flush down your toilet, goes into your septic system. Your septic system has to digest all of this. Over the years, in situations where systems haven’t been maintained properly, sludge and other debris are unable to be digested by the bacteria in the system, which collects in the drainfield laterals, causing a breakdown in the system.

Drainfield or Dry Well Rejuvenation

We are the proud inventors and patent owners of the method, procedure and apparatus for the Drainfield or Dry Well Rejuvenation Process. Why do systems fail? Systems fail because of lack of maintenance, improper installation or misuse of the system. ROTO-ROOTER says "FIX IT, DON'T REPLACE IT." For years Mr. Johnson has been perfecting his procedures for making septic systems function properly after they have failed. If you are buying or selling a house or if your system is slow and failing, give ROTO-ROOTER a call. We may be able to help you save thousands of dollars.

“Rejuvenation” is the process by which your septic system is completely cleaned, so that it operates properly again. After years of research and development, we know that "Rejuvenation” works. Why spend a lot of money to  replace a septic system, when it can be repaired? With a patented process behind it, "Rejuvenation" is the way to go. The health and welfare of your family, community and the surrounding environment certainly should be protected on such a sensitive subject as an on-site waste water facility which we know as our “septic system.”

Grease Trap Cleaning

Grease traps require special care just like septic tanks. ROTO-ROOTER removes the lids of the traps and Plumber Serving Maryland and Delaware them by pumping and scraping until the grease is gone. For customers who have either septic tanks or grease traps, they can utilize ROTO-ROOTER’s maintenance program for their convenience. Grease trap cleaning can be scheduled to fit the needs of your operation.

Septic Inspections

Septic Inspections should only be done by licensed contractors who either install or service septic systems. ROTO-ROOTER is familiar with the working mechanisms of septic systems, as well as the manner for which they were designed to function properly. That’s why ROTO-ROOTER is qualified to inspect septic systems. The only true way that a septic system can be inspected is by opening both lids (all accesses to septic tank) and the lid to the distribution box. This way you can see first hand the condition of the tank and whether or not the drainfield is functioning properly. By using this method, you can determine if there are any other malfunctions with the system. All findings are documented which protects all parties involved.

Facts About Bacteria and Enzyme Products

Bacteria produce their own enzymes. Your septic system should contain bacteria. The reason for introducing our bacteria/enzyme product into your septic system is to give your system a “head start” in its ongoing process of digesting the waste that enters your system. Because the kinds of products that we flush and wash down the drains into the septic tank vary in the amount and diversity, this “head start” is necessary for proper septic system maintenance.
