Septic Inspections

Septic Inspections should only be done by licensed contractors who either install or service septic systems. ROTO-ROOTER is familiar with the working mechanisms of septic systems, as well as the manner for which they were designed to function properly. That’s why ROTO-ROOTER is qualified to inspect septic systems. The only true way that a septic system can be inspected is by opening both lids (all accesses to septic tank) and the lid to the distribution box. This way you can see first hand the condition of the tank and whether or not the drainfield is functioning properly. By using this method, you can determine if there are any other malfunctions with the system. All findings are documented which protects all parties involved.

Facts About Bacteria and Enzyme Products

Bacteria produce their own enzymes. Your septic system should contain bacteria. The reason for introducing our bacteria/enzyme product into your septic system is to give your system a “head start” in its ongoing process of digesting the waste that enters your system. Use excess amounts of detergent, bleach or caustic drain cleaners that could kill the natural bacteria in the septic system
Pour your liguid grease down the drain before washing pots and pans (wipe out congealed grease with a paper towel)
Flush items down the toilet that are made to absorb (such as: paper towels, sanitary napkins, tampons, facial tissues, dental floss, cigarette butts or any other bulky products)
Put a lot of fibrous or stringy fruits and vegetables down your disposal. These materials will fill your tank up more quickly
Plant trees that grow large over the top of your septic tank or leach field
Wash more than two clothes washer loads or dishwasher loads per day
